CJEG INVITES YOU TO SUBMIT A PAPER FOR PUBLICATION IN THE SPECIAL ISSUE CELEBRATING THE

75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CSEG

As the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG) prepares to celebrate 75 years of advancements in applied geophysics in 2025, we are excited to announce a special issue of the Canadian Journal of Exploration Geophysics (CJEG) dedicated to commemorating this milestone. We invite you to contribute to this issue, showcasing the latest innovations and developments in applied and exploration geophysics.

We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to the following:

  • Subsurface imaging through geophysical methods, including seismic, potential field, and electromagnetic techniques.
  • Applications of subsurface imaging include resource exploration and development, time-lapse monitoring, carbon storage development and monitoring, environmental monitoring, geothermal energy, Helium exploration, nuclear waste disposal, and near-surface investigations.
  • Emerging trends and algorithms for information retrieval from geophysical datasets, including attribute analysis, inversion for quantitative interpretation, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and other data processing advancements based on traditional signal processing and inverse problems and new paradigms based on deep learning.
  • Data acquisition and preconditioning methods that enhance imaging and interpretation quality. This includes new acquisition designs and the impact of wavefield reconstruction and compressive sensing.

Publication Date: June 2025
