CSEG Executive Elections 2018

The 2018 CSEG Nominations Committee [John Duhault - chair, Marian Hanna, Rachel Newrick] are seeking members to stand for the 2018 CSEG Executive. Details of the Executive positions to be filled can be found at CSEG Executive Duties.

We call upon CSEG members to stand for the 2018 CSEG Executive. Note that the 2018 Vice-President will be the 2019 President and 2018 Assistant Directors will be 2019 Directors. Please contact any past or current Executive to discuss the roles and expectations.

Online voting will begin on December 1, 2017 and run until January 15, 2018.

2018/2019 Election Candidates

Ron Newman
President Elect (elected as Vice President in 2017)

Ron NewmanMr. Newman has over 40 years of exploration and development experience and contributes a rare combination of technical and management experience. He has applied this knowledge base to co-found four TSE listed companies: Courage Energy Ltd., Geophysical Microcomputer Applications (International) Ltd., Winstar Resources Ltd. and COSTA Energy Inc.

Mr. Newman holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Geophysics and Geology (minor)) from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta. Ron has been nominated twice for Entrepreneur of the Year in Alberta, both in 1997 and 1999.

Mr. Newman is a past chairman of the Doodlespiel and past golf director of the Doodlebug golf tournament.

Executive Elections

Key Executive Election Dates:

October 1:
Executive nominations published. Call for open nominations from the membership requiring five supporting members.

November 1:
Deadline – Open nominations for Executive Elections.

December 1:
Executive candidate profiles published in the RECORDER and Election opens.

January 15:
Deadline – Election closes.
