NILANJAN GANGULY

Hello everyone,

It is hard to believe that three years have passed since I took on the role of Chief Editor of the RECORDER. Time does fly!

The past three years have been incredibly rewarding. I have learned a great deal, met many remarkable people, and, most importantly, had the opportunity to give back to the CSEG community. During this period, the RECORDER team published 33 technical articles, 18 interviews, and numerous reports and announcements. We also came out with a special print version of the RECORDER to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the CSEG.

I would like to thank my amazing team of editors for their dedication and hard work during these years. It has been an absolute privilege to lead this talented group of people. I am also grateful to the many CSEG board members who helped me out. And of course, a big thank you to Alyssa for keeping us in line!

However, I believe this is the right time for a change. Effective this month, the RECORDER will have a new Chief Editor. I am pleased to announce that Bill Goodway has agreed to take on this role.

I believe Bill needs no introduction within the CSEG community. For more than 40 years, he has made immense contributions to this organization as well as to geophysics in general. He was involved in numerous groundbreaking technical innovations including the Megabin seismic acquisition design, Lambda-Mu-Rho (LMR) attributes, and, more recently, EcoSeis technology. Bill also served as Chair of the Technical Committee for Geo-Triad 1998 and as the President of the CSEG in 2003.

Please join me in welcoming Bill as the new Chief Editor of the RECORDER.

Cheers,

-Nilanjan
