The RECORDER is an online magazine published throughout the year by the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG). The magazine includes articles from all areas of applied geophysics and the disciplines that impact it. The RECORDER also publishes information about educational, business and social aspects of the CSEG. All but our most recent technical articles are open to the general public, however, we have eased this restriction for the remainder of 2020 to help during the pandemic.

CALL FOR PAPERS: To submit an article for consideration, please contact the Chief Editor at Submission guidelines and other important considerations such as copyright may be found here: 2021 RECORDER Submission Guidelines.

The Canadian Journal of Exploration Geophysics was published by the CSEG in print form from 1965 to 1999. The CJEG was placed in abeyance at this time due to the significant cost of time and money necessary to produce a high quality, refereed publication. However, the CSEG (in 2010) has resurrected the Journal as a digital on-line publication, maintaining its high-quality refereed nature.

If you wish to submit a paper for this new version of the Journal, please contact Satinder Chopra ( for more information
