Author Biography
Gijs Vermeer was with Shell for nearly 30 years, where he worked on seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation, both in research and in operations. Four years ago he started his own geophysical consultancy 3DSymSam – Geophysical Advice. Up to this day his company has no other employees than himself. Recently he received a doctorate at Delft University of Technology with a thesis titled “Fundamentals of 3-D seismic survey design”. He is a member of SEG, EAGE, CSEG, and PESGB.
